Set in the beautiful surroundings of Woolton Woods, Much Woolton Old School Nursery is over 400 years old. Lovely, inside and out, a new identity was needed to reflect it’s heritage.
Taking inspiration from the oak woodlands the nursery is surrounded by, the logo is a playful combination of an acorn and a happy child. Likewise, the nursery and it’s diverse outdoor activities encourages children to be most comfortable when in the great outdoors.
During a child’s young, formative years, they are only small, but they are full of potential. One day, through careful nurturing and a fun, supportive environment, they may grow into ‘mighty oaks’.

Simple, irregular shapes and soft colours reflect the playful innocence of children. Nothing is confined to a grid, working as a metaphor for the nursery’s approach to letting kids be kids.
Playful experimentation is at the heart of the nursery, and therefore at the brand too.
Icons worked in tandem with the uniform line width of the logo. They are simple, clear and easy to understand.
